The reciprocating screw is a form of three-dimensional cam pair, which is represented by two threaded grooves with the same pitch and opposite rotation direction. The two ends are connected with an overcurve. Through the rotation of the screw rod, the side of the spiral groove pushes the slider placed in the spiral groove to make axial reciprocating motion. Reciprocating screw applications include: robots, CNC machine tools, conveyors, aircraft parts (e.g. ailerons), medical devices (e.g. X-ray equipment) and printing machinery (e.g. offset printing machines), etc. Reciprocating lead screw is a kind of lead screw that can make the slider reciprocate without changing the direction of rotation of the spindle.
